Track 2
7 min · 60 XPNot sounding like a salesperson
Uncertainty language, hype words and permission-seeking are what make people hang up.
Words that leak uncertainty
Cut these and your credibility rises without changing a single idea.
- 'Just', 'maybe', 'possibly', 'kind of', 'a little bit'
- 'Would you be interested in…' — asks for rejection
- 'Sorry to bother you' — apologises for the call
- 'To be honest' — implies the rest was not
Words that oversell
Revolutionary, game-changing, cutting-edge, synergy, disrupt. Every one of them makes an owner trust you less. Say the plain version instead.
Say it like this
Weak
